What is Inside LIVE!?
Inside LIVE! is a career-focused program for Black youth ages 15-19, designed to provide insights into careers within the live music industry. It aims to help young people understand the various roles and opportunities in the live music sector.
Who can apply to Inside Live!?
The program is open to marginalized youth who identify as Black and are interested in pursuing careers in the live music industry. Youth-centered organizations must apply on behalf of the youth; individual applications will not be accepted.
How do I apply for the program?
Youth cannot apply individually. If you’re interested, reach out to a youth-centered organization in your community and request that they submit an application on your behalf.
What types of organizations can apply on behalf of youth?
Organizations that work with marginalized and underrepresented youth, especially those focused on career development, education, or community engagement, can apply. These may include community centres, educational nonprofits, or youth development organizations.
Why is there no individual application option?
To ensure that the program reaches its target demographic and to help facilitate the application process, organizations familiar with the needs and qualifications of youth are required to submit applications. This ensures thorough vetting and the right fit for the program.
What is the vetting process like?
The vetting process is extensive and will assess the youth’s interest, commitment, and potential to thrive in the live music industry. It ensures that participants are well-suited to the program and its goals.
What kind of support can youth expect from the program?
Inside LIVE! offers mentorship, hands-on learning opportunities, and access to professionals and resources within the live music industry. Participants will gain exposure to various career paths, including event management, production, marketing, and talent development.
Who are the partners involved in Inside Live!?
Inside LIVE! is a collaborative effort between ADVANCE, ArtHaus, Live Nation Canada, and MLSE. These organizations bring a wealth of industry knowledge and resources to help participants thrive and succeed.
When does the program take place?
Specific program dates and schedules will be provided once your organization has successfully submitted an application. Followed by the endorsed youth being accepted into the program.
Can youth from outside the designated age range apply?
No. The program is specifically designed for youth aged 15-19 to align with career development opportunities suited to this age group.
How will youth be notified if they’re accepted?
Youth will be informed of their acceptance through the community youth leader or organization that applied on their behalf. They will then coordinate communication and next steps.
